Roadworthy inspections in Grovedale, Lara, Anglesea, Ocean Grove and Ashmore

If you want to sell your car or need to re-register a second-hand vehicle in Victoria, you'll need to obtain a Victorian roadworthy certificate. Always There Automotive is a licensed vehicle tester for VicRoads at our five workshops in Grovedale, Ashmore, Lara, Anglesea and Ocean Grove.

A certificate of roadworthiness can only be issued by a registered licensed vehicle tester. Our team of motor mechanics has completed the relevant coursework and uses the newest technology and testing equipment to ensure you're safe on the road - whether driving the family or running a business fleet.

Please note this service can only be undertaken at our workshop. We offer a courtesy car for a small fee, or if you'd like to wait while we work, our waiting room has comfortable seating as well as FREE wi-fi.

Roadworthy inspections

Our mechanics are trained to assess the health of your vehicle against VicRoads’ roadworthy standards. This involves checking the main aspects of your car are in optimum condition, including:

  • vehicle structure
  • wheels and tyres
  • seats and seatbelts
  • steering, suspensions and braking systems
  • windscreen, and windows including front wipers and washers
  • lights and reflectors
  • other safety-related items on the body, chassis or engine.

If we identify any issues you will be given seven days to repair or replace the unfit items.

Always There Automotive offers professional mechanic services, including a wide range of mechanical repairs for all car makes and models.

Issuing of roadworthy certificates

Once your vehicle meets all requirements of the roadworthy assessment, our auto mechanics will issue you with a certificate of roadworthiness. Please note that the certificate must be issued within 30 days of application for registration or transfer of ownership.

If you’re thinking about buying a new or second-hand car, we also offer pre-purchase vehicle inspections, advising you of the cost and repairs required to register your car.
